The quartet subsequently collaborated with Bowie and producer Tony Visconti on his 2003 release "Heathen". During the recording process Bowie bestowed upon the quartet the name Scorchio.
Since 2001, Scorchio has performed at the annual Tibet House Benefit Concerts at Carnegie Hall with David Bowie, Philip Glass, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Michael Stipe, Regina Spektor, Ben Harper, Trey Anastasio, David Byrne, Sujfan Stevens, Ziggy Marley, Kronos Quartet and Rufus Wainwright.
Scorchio has premiered works by Tony Visconti, Joel Thome, Anthony Cornicello and Martha Mooke.
The quartet also offers workshops and masterclasses as individuals or full ensemble.
